News of the Craiglist Killer is shocking and terrifying … but I guess, not unexpected.

This should be an eye opener for anyone participating in social networks.  What if you are trying to sell your old couch or car on Craigslist?  What precautions should you take when a buyer wants to view the merchandise?  Remember the movie Deja vu?

Just because you’ve met someone online, that doesn’t make them a friend or even an acquantance.  Inviting a stranger to your home seems extraordinarily dangerous.  (Unless you live on the South Side of Chicago … then it’s every man for himself).  But seriously … this incident should be a warning to everyone.  Take precautions.  Don’t meet anyone alone.  There are sick people out there.
