They've done the same thing with Halloween and Friday the 13th, though I must disagree with you on those movies. The first ones, similar to the first Scream movie, were realistic and frightening, which is what garnered its success and ability to make stupid sequels. I myself LOVE the first Halloween movie, starring Jamie Lee Curtis. Michael Meyers was human in that film, as was Jason in the first 13th movie. I wouldn't get your hopes up on this new remake. It's being produced by the same creators of the recent Friday 13th and Halloween remakes, both of which were stupid and served a pure purpose of making money at the box office, not to entertain. Just bring your portable DVD player with the original Scream movie into the theatre. Just in case. :P Ugh, I know.
