Gen-Y and Gift Cards

In this economy, most of Gen-Y are pretty broke.  The economic crisis hit minimum wage earners hard.  In addition, we are trying to make up the loss in our college funds so we our budgets for fun are bleak.   Research proves out what we are all feeling:

Blackhawk Network, the largest third-party provider of prepaid gift cards recently conducted a survey with Kelton Research which found that a majority (61%) of consumers surveyed spent less money treating themselves in 2008 than in years past.

On our birthdays and for Easter, give us something we can really use.   Blackhawk Network provides over 300 branded gift cards that will make any teen smile.

The problem with giving gift cards is that they typically look like last minute gifts.  But at Gift Card Mall, you can add a personal message to your card from the comfort of your home. Your gift order is then sealed, addressed, and sent to you or your recipient.  The other problem with gift cards is that you are never quite sure how much money is left on them. The Gift Card Mall solves that problem by giving you  a Customer Care number to call anytime for the balance left on your card 1-877-GCMall.

So, if you are wondering what to get me for my sweet 16, a gift card is a good idea.
